漸進的イノベーションと急進的イノベーションの引用特許の比較分析

| Abstract | イノベーションは、従来的技術の延長線上にある「漸進的イノベーション」と従来技術とは根本的に異なる非連続的な「急進型イノベーション」の2つに分類される。企業の持続的成長には、この2つのイノベーションの創出が重要である。これまで、イノベーションに関して、特許データを用いた分析が数多くされているが、これら2つのイノベーションを区別した議論はされていない。そこで、本研究では、特許を、漸進的イノベーションを表す「漸進的特許」と急進的イノベーションを表す「急進的特許」に分類し、それらの特許の創出における引用特許における特徴を明らかにする。 |

| Innovation can be classified into two types: incremental innovation and radical innovation. Incremental innovation is a series of improvement of existing technologies. Radical innovation completely replaces existing technologies. Creating both innovation is essential for firms to achieve sustainable development. Although many exiting studies have analyzed innovation by using patent data, none of them distinguish two innovations. This study classifies patents into “incremental patent" and “radical patent" representing incremental innovation and radical innovation, respectively. Furthermore, we clarify the characteristics of both patents focusing on their cited patents. | |
