本研究は、バーチャル空間を活用した研究室がもたらす研究室内のコミュニケーションに焦点を当て、その効果が学生の研究意欲に与える影響を実証する。分析では、バーチャル研究室を利用している学生41人のアンケート結果から、共分散構造分析を行った。その結果、3次元ではなく、2次元的なデザインのバーチャル研究室でも、学生は近くに人がいると充分錯覚でき、学生間の交流が活発になることを実証した。この学生間の交流が組織としての一体感を生み、研究意欲を向上させることを実証した。この結果から、バーチャル研究室がコロナ下における一時的なものではなく、アフターコロナ後も教育ツールとして活用できる可能性を提示した。
This research focuses on the impact of communication in the virtual laboratory on students' motivation for the research. A structural equation modeling was constructed using the questionnaire results from 41 students using the virtual laboratory. The students can feel someone close to them even if the virtual laboratory is designed in two rather than three dimensions. This illusion brings active interaction among students. This study demonstrated that this interaction among students generates a feeling of unity as an organization and increases their research motivation. In conclusion, the results suggest that a virtual laboratory can be leveraged as an educational tool even after COVID-19. - Keywords
