組織が持つ多層的なネットワークに関する実証研究
― 原材料取引と技術導入が特許に与える影響 ―

Abstract

本研究は、日本の石油化学産業の原材料取引と技術導入ネットワークに着目し、知識のオーバーラップがあるものの、その関係性は全く異なる企業間で形成された両ネットワークが、企業の研究開発能力に与える影響を実証する。2009年と2013年のそれぞれ2年分のネットワーク分析により算出した指標を用いて、負の二項回帰モデルによる分析を行った。その結果、両ネットワークの各々の中心性指標は研究開発能力を向上させるだけでなく、交互作用効果もあった。複数の異なる企業ネットワークの組み合わせによる活用を実証したことは、ネットワーク理論と知識吸収能力理論への貢献だけでなく、イノベーション戦略にもつがなる実務的貢献である。

This research focuses on the raw materials trading and technology insertion networks of the Japanese petrochemical industry. Although there is overlap in knowledge, this study demonstrates the influence of both networks formed between companies with completely different relationships on research and development (R&D) capability. The study uses indexes calculated using network analysis for two years in 2009 and 2013 and performed a negative binomial regression model analysis. Each centrality index of both networks not only improved R&D capability, but also had an interaction effect. Demonstrating the use of multiple different corporate networks in combination not only contributes to network theory and absorptive capacity theory, but is also a practical contribution to innovation strategies.
