Japan has been flooded with too many amusement parks competing with one another since the 1980s. Recently, most parks have closed down or suffered from financial problems. Meanwhile, the amusement park industry has been monopolized by the Tokyo Disney Resort, which has realized about half of the sales in the industry every year. Many research efforts have analyzed their success factors; however, those factors are inimitable strategies, so these results can never be applied to the others for revitalization. Therefore, this paper provides a new understanding of the Tokyo Disney Resort's employee education program, their most successful factor, from the viewpoint of an information systems study. Studying this factor from the framework of an information system will enable innovation in the organization design of amusement parks. | |
