ミックス法とデザイン科学研究の可能性

| Abstract | 近年のIS研究方法論の世界的動向を紹介し、わが国におけるIS研究のあり方とIS研究方法論の共通基盤について議論する。本部会では、IS研究方法論としてミックス法研究(MMR)とデザイン科学的研究(DSR)に焦点をあて、それらの哲学的基盤とIS学との親和性について議論してきた。本ワークショップでは、MMRとDSRの概略、両研究方法とISとの接点について紹介し、プラグマティズムと批判的実在論に焦点をあて、両研究方法との関係性と、IS研究における意味について議論する。最後に、批判的実在論を前提とするMMRやDSRが、わが国のIS研究に寄与できるのか、わが国の研究者コミュニティは何をすべきなのかを参加者とともに議論する。 |

| The SIG-ISRM has been discussing methodological potential of qualitative inquiries with their philosophical assumptions to explore the effective methods in IS research. The SIG has been also focusing on the mixed methods research (MMR) and the design science research (DSR), and discussing these philosophical assumptions and the applicability to IS research. In the workshop, a SIG member will be giving the participants an outline of MMR, DSR and their relationship to IS and discussing relationship between MMR and DSR and their significance in IS research by focusing on pragmatism and critical realism as epistemology and ontology. Discussing whether or not the critical realism-based MMR and DSR could contribute to IS research in our country and exploring what should be done in our community. | |
